Percy Bysshe Shelly
For my Introduction to English Literature course, I was assigned to give a presentation on Percy Bysshe Shelley during the session on the Romantic period in English literary history. While I found Shelley to be an intriguing figure, I also struggled with the complexity of his work, as is the case with many Romantic poets. Their themes, language, and style often prove difficult to fully grasp. Although I appreciated the opportunity to delve into Shelley’s poetry, I was relieved to move on from the Romantic era, as its subject matter and stylistic approaches don’t particularly resonate with me on a personal level.
